Silverburn complete a hectic summer2014 has been a busy year for the Group

As well as a good number of tows of vessels being positioned both in and out of the Caspian our LoLo (16801 type) and RoRo (Lotos and Stan type) barges have been fully.

The towage of the 200 BP AHTS POSH Courage, which is to start working off Baku, posed a number of familiar challenges. 17.2 meters wide and deep drafted she required removal of the bridge and fitting of sponsons to reduce the height and draft sufficiently to make the passage and 2 of our well equipped tugs with experienced captains completed it successfully on time.

In September we were contracted to carry to Atyrau port vital equipment for the Tengiz refinery on a very tight schedule to ensure delivery before winter. Sailing Varna we arrived exactly on schedule at Atyrau river mouth where the   available draft was only 1.4 meters however due to our ultra-shallow draft tugs we were able to berth alongside with 24 hours and the goods were delivered on time.
